The 2024-25 playoff edition started on Tuesday night after their first round bye playing the rival Selkirk Fishermen.
Starting the scoring for St. Malo was Ashton Dubois on a breakaway shorthanded.
Only minutes later the powerplay would score for St. Malo when Ashton Cure (Dubois, Fillion) scored to make it 2-0.
In the second Selkirk got on the board thanks to Zach Gallinger (Bergagnini, Johnson) to cut the lead to one.
St. Malo answered back late in the second when Adam Little scored unassisted to make it 3-1 after two.
Selkirk would close the gap to one once again thanks to Theo Courchene (Schroeder, Bergagnini) to make it 3-2.
Minutes later, the Warriors would score two quick ones thanks to Ashton Cure (Fillion, Worley) and Teagan Fillion (Fillion, Cure) to take an opening series lead of 1-0 with the 5-2 final.
Game two goes Friday night in Selkirk at 7:30PM.
