The St. Malo Warriors welcomed the Arborg Ice Dawgs for their 5th and final match up of the regular season on Sunday afternoon looking to complete the season sweep of the Ice Dawgs.
It was a tough start for St. Malo with Arborg going up 2-0 early in the first when Ben Danielson (Maxwell, Crave) and Keagan Wiebe (Maxwell) would score.
St. Malo got things sorted and we're able to tie the game at two after one when Keston Worley (Johnson, Maynard) and Jeremie Collette (Dubois, Magne) would score for the Warriors.
St. Malo would take a 3-2 lead early in the second when Colton Magne (Gregoire, Collette) scored on the powerplay.
Arborg would fight their way back with two goals of their own thanks to Brandon Burak (Jacobson, Loewen) and Michael Crave (Danielson, Wiebe) to take a 4-3 lead into the third.
St. Malo would use the powerplay in the third to get things back on track scoring on three consecutive power plays thanks to Keston Worley (Fillion, Tirschman), Logan Fillion (Fillion, Tirschman), and Jeremie Collette (Johnson, Magne) to take a 6-4 lead.
Arborg would close the lead to one when Tyson Barylski (Danielson, Maxwell) would score on the powerplay.
St. Malo was able to answer quickly with Ashton Dubois (Collette, Frechette) scoring to make it a 7-5 game and final.
The St. Malo Warriors are back in-action tonight as they head to Billy Mosienko to face the Winnipeg Satelites.
