Warriors Win 10th Straight

St Malo Warriors

On Sunday afternoon the top two teams in the CRJHL faced-off in a fight for first place in the standings.

St. Malo took an early 1-0 lead when Damon Johnson (Magne, Dubois) scored on the powerplay to take a 1-0 lead going into the second.

Beausejour was able to tie things up when Easton Gaffray (Brannen, Clarke) scored and able to take their first lead when Jaedys Dancyt (Gaffray, Melsted) scored to make it 2-1 Comets.

Former Comet Riley Tirschman (Cure) scored against his former team to tie things up for St. Malo at 2 going into the third.

Beausejour went back in front early in the third when Nikolas Bear (Melsted, Thomas) scored to make it 3-2.

St. Malo was able to answer right back when Keston Worley (Fillion, Tirschman) scored to make it 3-3 and ultimately lead to overtime.

Late in the overtime period the league leading scorer Teagan Fillion (Fillion, Magne) would win the game for the Warriors on route to their 10th straight victory.

St. Malo is back in-action on Saturday night when they visit the Lundar Falcons with a 7PM puck drop.
