St. Malo Takes 2-0 Series Lead

St. Malo Takes 2-0 Series Lead

St Malo Warriors

After a convincing 9-0 St. Malo win in game one, the Warriors knew it was going to be a different type of game two against Lundar.

A tight checking first period would lead to no goals by either team.

Lundar would open the scoring in the second when Liam Russell (Miller) scored midway through the second.

St. Malo we're able to respond just three minutes later when Ashton Dubois forced a turnover and scored on a breakaway and taking a 1-1 lead into the third.

In the third St. Malo would take their first lead when Rylan Keck (Dias) would fire a laser from the blueline and beating Lundar goalie clean to give a 2-1 lead.

St. Malo was able to add an insurance marker at the eight minute mark when Keston Worley (Fillion, Johnson) would finish off a 2 on 1 to give the Warriors a 3-1 lead.

Jozse Gauthier-Urmos would shut the door the rest of the way making 25 saves on 26 shots and give the Warriors a 2-0 series lead in the best of seven semi-final.

Game 3 goes Tuesday back in St. Malo with an 8pm puck drop.
