Warrior Comeback Falls Short

Warrior Comeback Falls Short

St Malo Warriors

The St. Malo Warriors visited the Beausejour Comets on Friday night.

Beausejour would come out strong in the first period thanks to two straight goals by Clint Thomas (Hurcul) and Tanner Amos (Hurcul, Ticknor).

St. Malo was able to respond to cut the lead to one when Jeremie Collette (Fillion, Gregoire) would score.

Beausejour would add a late first period goal thanks to Nikolas Bear (Laviolette, Dubberly) to take a 3-1 lead into the second.

Warriors would slowly chip away at the Comets lead when Mikka Lambert would score on a breakaway to make it 3-2 giving the Warriors a chance heading into the third period.

The powerplay would come through for St. Malo when Jeremie Collette (Fillion, Magne) would tie the game at three.

Unfortunately the tie game would only last all but nine seconds when Clint Thomas would take a bad turnover and score.

The Comets added an empty netter to seal the win.

Next up are the Arborg Ice Dawgs on December 1, 2023 in Arborg with an 8pm puck drop.
