Warriors Use Perfect Penalty Kill to Victory

Warriors Use Perfect Penalty Kill to Victory

St Malo Warriors

The second-place St. Malo Warriors we're looking to create some separation between them and fourth-place Beausejour Comets on Friday night.

St. Malo got the scoring started when Damon Johnson (McFarlane) scored to give the Warriors a 1-0 lead.

Less than a minute later Beausejour answered back when Aiden Avontay (Miller, Ewasko) would tie the game at one.

There was no scoring in the second period despite the Warriors being shorthanded four times and outshooting the Comets 14-10 in the period.

St. Malo were rewarded when Keston Worley (Keck, French) would score his first goal as a Warrior to give them a 2-1 lead early in the third.

The Warriors were able to get a two goal lead when Reece Unrau (Johnson) scored from a faceoff win with less than four minutes remaining in the third.

The Comets we're able to add a late goal thanks to Nikolas Bear (Hurcul, Reid) to make it a 3-2 lead.

The Warriors we're able to hold off late pressure from the Comets for a 3-2 win. Warrior goalie Jozse Gauthier-Urmos stopped 30 of 32 shots in the win.

NEXT UP: The Warriors will host the Lundar Falcons on Sunday, December 17th in St. Malo with a 2:30pm puck drop.
