Warriors Use Quick Start to Defeat Arborg Ice Dawgs

Warriors Use Quick Start to Defeat Arborg Ice Dawgs

St Malo Warriors

St. Malo visited the Arborg Ice Dawgs on Friday night looking to avenge a 6-3 loss to the Ice Dawgs earlier in the year.

The Warriors we're able to withstand an early flurry of Arborg shots thanks to Logan Mazinke's great play.

Once settled in the Warriors took over. Starting with Kaden Rioux (Gregoire, T. Maynard) scoring in his return to the lineup.

Brady Gregoire would score unassisted when he forced a turnover inside the offensive zone and beating the Arborg goalie high.

20 seconds later Rylan Keck (Gregoire) would tip a shot pass into the net to take a 3-0 lead into the second.

St. Malo was able to add on to their lead thanks to Braeden McFarlane's hard work ultimately getting it to Reece Unrau (McFarlance) scoring.

Arborg was able to get their first goal of the game late in the second on the powerplay thanks to Tyson Barylski (Adair, Plett).

St. Malo would use the powerplay in the third period to seal the game. First it was an unassisted bank shot by Sam Freynet and next a 4-on-3 powerplay goal scored by Jeremie Collette (Keck, T. Maynard).

Logan Mazinke made 31 saves on 32 shots in the victory.

NEXT UP: Tuesday November 7, 2023 vs the North Winnipeg Satelites in Warren.
