Warriors Fall to Ice Dawgs


The Warriors welcomed the Arborg Ice Dawgs to St. Malo for an afternoon game between the second and third place teams in the CRJHL.

The Warriors would get off to a good start when Jeremie Collette (Peters, Dubois) scored the only goal of the first period.

Arborg would score two goals mid-way through the second courtesy of back-to-back goals by Jack Einarson.

Teagan Fillion (McFarlane, Gosselin) would respond less than 30 seconds after Arborg would take a 2-1 lead to tie the game at 2.

The Warriors and Ice Dawgs would trade goals late in the second period with goals scored by Ice Dawg Brayden Stevenson (Einarson) and Warrior Evan Wuerch (Collette, Dubois).

The Ice Dawgs would come out to a quick start thanks to goals by Brayden Stevenson (Einarson, Guimond) andf Troy Johanneson (Seymour, Woytowich) to take a commanding 5-3 lead.

The Warriors would cut the lead to one mid-way through the third courtesy of a goal by Evan Wuerch (Dubois, Collette).

Jack Einarson (Clarke, Guimond) would complete the hat-trick thanks to an empty-net goal in the final seconds of the game to make it a 6-4 final.

The Warriors are back in-action January 15th when the league leading Selkirk Fishermen come to town with a 7pm puck drop.
