Warriors Defeat North Winnipeg


The Warriors welcomed the North Winnipeg Satelites to town for their first game of 2022.

The Warriors would quickly fall behind courtesy of Wyatt Emes (Bear, Aikman) who scored less than two minutes into the game.

The Warriors would quickly respond less than 30 seconds later courtesy of Cole Holdnick (Spence).

The Warriors would score in the final seconds of the period courtesy of Teagan Fillion (Dubois, Wuerch) to take a 2-1 lead into the intermission.

The second period was all Warriors. They exploded for four goals from four different players to take a 6-1 lead into the third.

Goals we're scored by Ashton Dubois (Maynard, Wuerch), Cole Holdnick (Fillion, Dubois), Teagan Fillion (Dubois, Spence), Mitchell Penner (McFarlane).

The Satelites would cut the lead to four when Aden Asham (Emes) would score mid-way through the third.

The Warriors would cap off the scoring courtesy of Colton Magne (McFarlane) which would make it a 7-2 final.

The win improves St. Malo's record to 9-9-1 on the year. Good for third in the league.

Jesse Morris stopped 19 of 21 shots in the victory.

The Warriors are back in-action on Sunday at 2pm when the Arborg Ice Dawgs come to town.
