Warriors Fall Short To The Satelites


The St. Malo Warriors visited the North Winnipeg Satelites for a Tuesday night tilt.

The Satelites came out of the gate strong scoring less than five minutes into the game when Nick Trudel (Vachon) found the back of the net.

The Satelites quickly striked again less then three minutes later by an unassisted goal courtesy of Damian Aikman.

The Warriors quickly countered and made it a 2-1 game when new comer Ryan Fuchs (Wuerch) found the back of the net a minute after the Satelites made it a 2-0 game.

The Satelites would finish off the first period scoring when Isaiah Sagriotis-Castaneda (Trudel) gave the Satelites their two goal lead back with 8 minutes left.

The second period would see the Warriors cut into the lead once again courtesy of a goal by Levi Penner (McFarlane, Dubois) making it a 3-2 game going into the third.

The Warriors we're unable to find a goal in the final minutes and the game was iced when Nick Trudel scored into the empty net to make it a 4-2 final.

Warrior goalie William Patterson stopped 32 of 35 shots in the loss.

The Warriors are back in action on Friday, November 19 when they visit the Selkirk Fishermen for a 7:30 puck drop.
