The St. Malo Warriors opened up their home portion of the schedule against the North Winnipeg Satelites in front of a crowd of over 150 people.
The Warriors started quickly with a goal from Ashton Dubois (Collette, Fillion) at the 16:09 mark of the first period.
The Satelites quickly responded under a minute later when Troy Gutowski (Aikman) found the back of the net beating Warriors goaltender Jesse Morris at 15:18 mark of the first period.
Colton Magne (McFarlane, Spence) finished the scoring in the first period to take a 2-1 lead into the second period.
The second period was scoreless where Satelites goalie Alex Pauls turnedaway a whopping 24 shots against, while Jesse Morris stopped all 9 shots he faced.
The Warriors would score on the PP courtesy of Jaden Gosselin (Wuerch, Holdnick) at the 9:53 mark of the third period to take a commanding 3-1 lead.
The Satelites cut into the lead at 6:45 mark of the third period courtesy of a goal by Nicolas Andrews (Behun, Aikman) to make it a 3-2 game late into the third.
The game was later sealed with 26 seconds left when Ashton Dubois (Collette, Penner) found the back of the net to make it a 4-2 game.
Jesse Morris stopped 39 of 41 shots to earn the victory.
